Brave Man Jumps Into Freezing Water in Boxers to Save Drowning Deer

When we see another person or an animal in danger, it can initiate our minds natural flight, fight, or freeze response. When a man spotted a baby dear in a canal fighting for its life, he didn’t have to think twice before diving in to save it.

Marc Headon is a painter and decorator from Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. Due to bad weather in the area, he and his friend Jamie were off work and driving around together. They immediately stopped when something strange caught their attention.

They got out of the car to take a closer look and realized it was a young deer splashing as it was drowning. Headon didn’t hesitate as he quickly undressed and jumped into the cold water to save the deer.

“Jamie helped me get the deer out and helped me out. I carried it to the top of the bank, where we wrapped it in blankets and tried to calm it and keep it warm,” he said. Jaimie was able to film the incredible rescue on his phone, and the deer went to a wildlife center where it recovered.
