Brooks & Dunn – ‘Little Miss Honky Tonk’ takes you back to 1995

On September 27, 1994, the fantastic country duo ‘Brooks and Dunn’ released their hit album ‘Waitin’ on Sundown.’ The songwriting team of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn founded their band in 1990. Do you have a favorite Brooks and Dunn song?

‘Waitin’ on Sundown’ is actually the 3rd album from the guys. It featured a bunch of hits, including ‘She’s Not the Cheatin’ Kind,’ ‘I’ll Never Forgive My Heart,’ ‘Little Miss Honky Tonk,’ ‘You’re Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone,’ and ‘Whiskey Under the Bridge.’

The album resulted in 3 number 1 hits, and two other songs reached number 5 and 6 on the Hot Country Songs chart. Since then, the duo has recorded at least a dozen more albums.

Before they were ‘Brooks and Dunn,’ the two singers were individual solo artists. In the 80s, they had separately charted during their solo careers, and Brooks was even writing songs for other country stars.

As a team, they’ve released 50 singles, and 20 of them hit number 1 on the Hot Country Songs Chart. 19 others reached the Top 10. Some of their tunes have even crossed over to the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including ‘Ain’t Nothing ‘bout You,’ and ‘Red Dirt Road.’

‘Brooks and Dunn’ even scored ‘Country Song of the Year’ in 1996 with ‘My Maria,’ and again in 2001 with ‘Ain’t Nothing ‘bout You.’ They’ve won countless awards, including a Grammy. Every single year from 1992 until 2006, the group won the CMA Vocal Duo of the Year award!

Their highest-certified album was their 1991 debut, ‘Brand New Man,’ which is certified sextuple-platinum after selling 6 million copies. Their success is unparalleled in country music, and ‘Brooks and Dunn’ are one of the most famous duos in the history of American music.
