Bullies mock her “disgusting” legs and her response is epic

Jacqueline Adan had always struggled with her weight, in fact she once tipped the scales at over 500 pounds. She was determined to do something about it and changed her diet and started getting a lot of exercise — never easy, but the only surefire way to lose weight. Over time all that effort paid off and she shed an incredible 350 pounds. That’s almost three-quarters of her peak body weight!

Losing excess weight can be great for your health and well-being, but if you lose a really large amount in a relatively sort time, your skin just can’t keep up. It doesn’t shrink to fit your body’s new size. The excess skin can be unsightly and draw unwanted attention.

This is what happened to Jacqueline. She was glad she’d lost all that weight, but was worried about how the excess skin looked, especially on her legs. Nevertheless, she summoned up her courage and decided she wasn’t going to let it hold her back. Eventually, she was confident enough to wear a swimsuit while on vacation. Some poolside bullies pointed at her legs and laughed, but she had changed enough inside that she just smiled, took a deep breath, and continued on into the pool. Jacqueline later posted about the incident on-line and got an incredibly positive response.

“I was not the same girl anymore. Yes I still have a lot of loose skin, I may still feel insecure at times, and yes I may still get made fun of… I am not going to let what other people think of me stop me from living my life… They do not know me. They do not know how I have worked my ass off to lose 350 pounds. They do not know how I am recovering from major surgeries. They have no right to sit and point and laugh at me. That’s why I smiled.”
