Earthquakes are scary events, one which cause untold devastation on a massive scale, uprooting families and homes. Any time an earthquake occurs, people from all walks of life get together to offer helping hands to those in need. This is one such story.
On August 24th, 2016, an earthquake with the magnitude of 6.2 struck central Italy. Even though there was loss of life, there were some stories that gave hope to the devastated masses. A simple tale of how one life was saved, after days of digging and searching.
A simple story of a silver lining amidst a massive cloud of devastation. Gigia, a cat was trapped under rubble and after days of pleas to rescue her trapped kitty, the firefighters responded to pull the dehydrated cat out of the rubble. There were cheers as the dazed cat was lifted to safety. He was given water and was checked out by vets, who gave a clean bill of health for the little kitty.
This video really warmed my heart because each life is precious. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones in this event, and I am thankful for all the lives saved that day. The search and rescue operations did not stop at only saving human lives, they rescued over 300 animals! This is very heartwarming news because I know my pet is like family to me.
