When Vivian and Arthur travelled all the way from Canada to Thailand to become an owner of an elephant for a day, they had the chance to experience something beautiful. Patara Elephant Farm in Chiang Mai, Thailand affords you with this incredible opportunity. The following video shares an extraordinary moment with Arthur and his new friend Tara.
Elephants are a magnificent species, but they are endangered. At Patara Elephant Farm, the staff focuses solely on the health-care and breeding management of elephants. They also help in the recovery process for elephants wounded by mine bombs. Vivian says that they had to work hard and learn what it meant to take care of these creatures when they arrived there.
They also had the opportunity to play with the two-month old calf Tara. I’m sure they won’t forget this for a long time, especially Arthur! He opens his arms to give the baby elephant a hug, and the next thing he knows, he is on the ground with an elephant in his lap! This elephant thinks he’s a lap dog, and he sure loved all of the attention.
The cutest part is when the elephant uses his trunk to tickle Arthur. Arthur was a good sport about it and enjoyed playing with the little guy, except he’s not so little. Once Arthur stood up, the baby elephant seemed to get distracted by something else. Maybe he found another unwitting soul to sit on.
