Canadian Train Conductor Decides To Inspect Engine. What He Found Amazed Me.

There are some tough decisions to make when the conditions outside are harsh. Would you walk out in a blizzard or driving rainstorm to see if something or someone was OK? Most of us want to stay in the warmth of shelter so the answer would be no. What if you didn’t know for sure that something was out there but there was a nagging feeling that you should look? There’s one cat who is lucky his new daddy, Brad Slater, found him.

We see Slater sitting in his bed holding his new cat. The cat is very content. He was telling the story aboot… I mean… about his finding the cat in the engine, having suffered the extreme cold for a long time. He had been ready to go with his other engineer for the last leg of their trip and something had told him to go look at the engines again. Despite it being dangerously cold, he did, and he found his new friend, who jumped in his arms when he called him.

Like the Genesis album title, “Then There Were Three.” It was now two conductors and the cat wending their way to Edmonton in the bitter cold weather. Slater now has the cat at home and he named him Q-199, after the train that he discovered him. Once he got home, he took him to his wife and three other cats. After a vet visit, he settled down in their home. Watching the video, you could tell that he was very content.

It leaves you to wonder what you would do in that situation. It’s one thing if it was a sunny warm day. Would you ignore the voice if it was well below freezing? I’d like to think that I would have gone outside, but I can’t say 100% for sure. Part of this is because I’ve been dealing with sub-zero temperatures for the past few days and I just don’t like being out in them. I would definitely have brought in the cat if I saw him, though.

What would you have done? Would you have hopped out of the train to inspect it? Or would you have just stayed in on the trip? Either way, tell us your thoughts in the comments section below. We want to hear them!
