Captured spider escapes from under glass and the internet is determined to find him

According to “Wikipedia” “Arachnophobia is the irrational fear of spiders and other arachnids such as tarantulas”. Now I understand this, but is there more to it than meets the (8) eyes? Let’s face it, nobody like spiders, which in a way is sad when you think about it. The poor misunderstood little 8 legged creature is an important part of the world’s ecosystems, without the spider mankind may be in a bit of trouble.

Not all spiders are dangerous, in fact, most are harmless, but that doesn’t change the fact that we are all a little nervous about of arachnids regardless of size. How many times have you been to the garden shed and walked through a giant spider’s web? There is nothing worse, and it seems to take forever the get the horrid thing off of your body, where it has stuck to you like glue. The fact is simple, people that suffer from arachnophobia tend to feel very uncomfortable in areas that may be hiding our little 8-legged-foes. My oldest son, a strapping 6”2’, is scared out of his wits by spiders and cockroaches, go figure.

Of course, in some cases, it’s justified. Australians, for instance, are host to the wonderful little thing called a “Funnel-web spider “or as we experts like to call it, “Atrax and Hadronyche” that’s fancy talk for the horrible thing that bites you and hurts a lot! Now the Australian Funnel-web spider is the deadliest spider in the world. Australia is also home to the Redback, a form of widow spider that is also highly toxic and can kill given the right circumstance. In the US there is the Black Widow, which is something you wouldn’t want to come across on a dark night.

The most famous of all spiders, the Tarantula, are poisonous, but not really that bad, they are just BIG, although not as big as the “Goliath birdeater”. This lovely beast belongs to the tarantula family, a family you don’t want to come across too often, and can be up to nearly 5” long……..YUK, that’s one big-ugly-duckling, let me tell you. Fortunately, these big arachnids only rarely prey on birds, so your budgie is reasonably safe……..for the moment that is.

Now that we have got all of that horrible stuff out of the way, can you think of any spider that you is cute? Yep, that’s what I said, CUTE! Well, you are about to, in the clip below you will meet a little character named Lucas. Lucas is the creation of a very clever animator called Joshua Slice. Joshua has worked on movies like “Big Hero 6” and “Zootopia” and came up with the idea that a spider could be cute.

His short film called “Lucas – Captured” has gone viral since being uploaded, so-much-so that people are calling for him to have his own full-length-feature, time will tell. Click on the link below and see for yourself just how cute a spider can be.
