Nobody does funny better than ‘The Carol Burnett Show.’ Carol doubles the laughs in the hilarious ”House for Sale” sketch by delivering a sidesplitting performance and pranking her co-star Harvey Korman.
In this skit, a distressed Carol seeks comfort from her sister, played by Vicki Lawrence, when Carol’s unfeeling husband, played by Korman, insists on selling their beloved home without her consent.
When a couple stops by to look at the place, Carol and Chrissie pull some hysterical pranks on the couple and leave Korman in a tizzy trying to course-correct the disaster.
From sea serpents in the basement to noisy kleptomaniacal foreign neighbors, Carol and Chrissie pull out all the stops to defer the couple from purchasing the house, but to no avail.
Harvey Korman gloats to a less than thrilled Carol as he accepts the gentleman’s $5000 check – until the man informs Korman that his house is worth much more than he just sold it for.
After the cunning couple leaves, Korman throws a king-sized tantrum that makes him look like an oversized toddler. Even Carol can barely keep a straight face after that rip-roaring performance!
To top off the sketch, Korman delivers the last line expecting the rehearsed reaction from Carol. When she purposefully changes the script, the two of them end up in stitches right along with the audience.
