In this clip from ‘The Carol Burnett Show,’ we see Carol playing the role of ‘Charlene Fusco.’ She is interviewing Mr. Handsome for ‘True Movie Fiction’ magazine. Harvey Korman plays the butler, and he asks Charlene if she is ready to face Mr. Handsome, telling her he came in numbers 1 through 9 for the world’s most handsome man. He adds that even his mirror came in tenth.

Charlene is unfazed, ‘To me, he’s just another actor, you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all.’ Mr. Handsome appears, and Charlene faints immediately at the sight of him. Korman, the butler, says, ‘If you’ll excuse me, sir, I’m getting a bit woozy myself.’ The audience laughs!
Mr. handsome gives a look with his eyebrow arched, and Charlene faints again. She starts the interview looking googly-eyed at Mr. Handsome. She’s asking questions and writing, but she isn’t using a pad or pencil. She’s writing on her hand while staring at him in awe.

Mr. Handsome starts walking around during the interview, and Charlene follows him. She is so entranced by his charms she walks straight into a wall. Mr. Handsome asks her if she’s alright, and she replies, ‘I don’t know. I’ve never had a chance to find out!’ Mr. Handsome looks away with a concerned and confused face, and the audience cracks up.
Charlene stumbles over her words and nervously asks, ‘Do you sleep with or without pajamas?’ Mr. Handsome pauses and opens his arms wide in front of her, answering, ‘Without,’ and Charlene faints right into his arms. Mr. Handsome asks her if she’d like to see the upstairs, and Charlene asks him what is upstairs. He positions her near the couch and responds, ‘My bedroom.’ Charlene faints again, thankfully on the couch.

He takes her over to a statue that was made by Picasso. He tells her that he posed for it. She looks at the figure and asks, ‘When you posed for it, were you…,’ she makes a hand gesture implying naked. He responds, ‘Completely,’ and she drops right to the floor. Mr. Handsome shows Charlene a golden loincloth that he wore in all his jungle movies. Charlene looks right at the camera and says ‘Me Jane,’ while passing out and hitting her head on the table.
Korman drags Charlene off-camera, and Mr. Handsome starts changing out of his ‘uncomfortable things,’ like elevator shoes, the padded smoking jacket, the hairpiece, and the girdle. He proclaims, ‘Now, I can relax and be myself!’ From behind the changing screen, superstar Bob Hope emerges! The audience goes wild! He doesn’t say a word, and he smiles and lets the audience shower him with applause. A wild twist ending to a hysterical sketch!
