Sounding like a true angel, Carrie Underwood delivers this incredibly moving performance of several gospel hymns at the ACM Awards.
Held in Nashville, Tennessee, the Academy of Country Music Awards recognizes, and awards, the best of country and western. And performing at this prestigious ceremony was the incredible Carrie Underwood.
Dressed like a glittering angel, Carrie’s performance begins with an acapella solo of “Amazing Grace” under a single spotlight that will send chills down your spine.
As the instruments kick in, and the lights begin to glow, we are treated to a medley of gospel hymns, beginning with a beautiful version of “Great is Thy Faithfulness”.
As if the performance isn’t powerful enough, Underwood then introduces the queen of gospel CeCe Winans who proceeds to duet with her. The culmination of their voices is inspiring.
It’s incredible to see the stage transition into an enormous stained-glass cathedral as the performance goes on. Keeping things gospel, Underwood keeps the classic hymns coming with “The Old Rugged Cross”.
As the performance draws to a close, we hear an incredibly moving version of “How Great They Art”. The hymn clearly inspires Carrie as she can be seen visibly emotional.
The performance ends with Carrie raising her arm to the heavens, holding a note like no one else. This performance is a once-in-a-lifetime event, something you will never forget.
