Cockatoo Tries To Infiltrate Group Of Kittens. Yes, You Read That Last Sentence Correctly.

Most of the time, animals like to stay with their own. Cats like to rest with other cats, dogs like to play with other dogs, birds like to hang out with other birds… you get the idea. But sometimes, an animal might get the notion that they are actually another species. I don’t know if it involves a hard blow to the head, like in the movies, but it does happen. If you don’t believe me, look at what we have here….

The undisputed star of this video is a cockatoo who thinks he’s a cat. He wanders into a group of kittens that live in his daddy’s home and he makes all these uncanny meowing sounds. He wants to join these cats, and all of them are giving each other sideways glances like, “What’s up with this dude?” “Don’t mess with him… HE’S CRAZY.” The bird jabs his beak at any kitty that gets too close, so, yeah, his sanity might be in question.

This is one bird who has thrown himself wholeheartedly into the role that he’s playing. He doesn’t think he’s a cockatoo playing a cat… HE IS A CAT. This is known as the Robert DeNiro/Jack Nicholson method. The only thing that might have made it more convincing is if he donned some cat ears and whiskers. Other than that, he had the mannerisms and meows down pat.

I don’t know if this happens for you, but for me, the video freezes after 50-something seconds, but you hear the bird still meowing. It feels like how a movie about an undercover cop would go into the lion’s den and the film would freeze at the end, leaving some ambiguity about whether the operation ended successfully or in catastrophic failure. Or like the end of “The Sopranos”, which I am STILL bitter about, thanks..
