This Conservation Officer Was Suspended for Refusing to Put Down These Two Wild Animals. Find out Why...

A man in a black shirt kneels by a pile of wood, preparing to start a fire.

Bryce Casavant never thought he would have to make a choice between his job and his beliefs. He never thought there would be a moment in his work where he would have to stand up to his boss and refuse to go against his principles.

So when this conservation officer got a call to put down two baby cubs, he knew this would be one of the most difficult decisions of his life. Sadly, these cubs no longer had a parent to raise them because their mother had been put down after breaking into mobile homes multiple times. Without a parent to raise them, they would not be able to grow up in the wild.

Bryce knew there must be some other solution, but his supervisor insisted that putting them down was what must be done. Finally, Bryce refused, and he was put on suspension from his job.

The great news is that the cubs were then taken to live in a rehabilitation clinic for cubs, and after the internet backlash against his superiors, Bryce was soon returned to payroll.
