Costa Mesa Singer Suffering From Arthrogryposis Auditions & Amazes

Twenty-seven-year-old Marna Michele from Costa Mesa is a singer who has held a lifelong aspiration of performing professionally. The young artist has suffered from a muscle, and joint disorder called arthrogryposis, which makes it painful to stand and hard to walk, placing Marna in a permanent wheelchair. The dedicated singer has oped for Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons” for her American Idol audition.

Luke Bryan loved her range but wished that she would dig in a little more so that they could hear a little more cry in her voice. Lionel Richie had a helpful suggestion, “I knows you can’t wait to get to that ‘where’s that high note’ when actually I want you to concentrate on the story you’re telling because it becomes flat in terms of the emotion, the feeling,” The advice is sure to be invaluable, because after three big ‘Yeses’ Marna is off to Hollywood.

Marna Michele shows the world that not even the disability arthrogryposis will slow her down on the way to attaining her dreams. The aspiring singer appeared in her wheelchair to audition for season eighteen of American Idol. Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons” hit home, showing off her range and control, but we all can’t wait to hear even more soul.
