If you thought changing your clothes in the locker room in high school between classes was hard, try doing a costume change in the middle of a performance – on ice.
This compilation highlights some of the most insane costume changes pulled off by highly talented young ice skaters. And all without missing a beat on their routines.
Most of the changes involve a simple unsnapping at the top of the garment to reveal a radically different outfit underneath or a simple reverse of the skirt by folding it over.
Others take the “air of mystery” approach by starting their routine in a trench coat or dressing robe only to dramatically fling it off to uncover another costume hidden underneath.
A couple of the talented skaters intertwine character costumes such as Disney princesses and Sailor Moon to add a fun bit of flair and their own personal style to the performance.
Perhaps the most impressive change involves a skater who begins her show with short dark hair and a tuxedo outfit to throw off the wig and change into a stunning mid-spin dress.
These stunning performances of high-level skill will leave you wondering why we don’t see more cool stunts like these pulled off at the Winter Olympics. Nonetheless, we’re glad we do get to see them at all.
