American Idol is one of the biggest reasons we have a steady stream of singing superstars to entertain us. Noah Thompson is a new face, singing songs that we all know with the confidence and voice of someone doing it for years. The song “Working Man” that he chooses to sing is a fitting match when you consider how truthful it is.

It is an aspect of life that most of us deal with every day. Before the chickens start moving around, we get up early to get ready for work. A couple of hot cups of coffee, loaded with caffeine, are downed to get our minds woken up. From there, out the door we go.

A workday is something that we have had to get used to doing. Otherwise, we cannot support ourselves or, worse yet, our families. There is nothing better than paying your bills and being able to keep your children fed and clothed and keep a roof over your heads. There is nothing worse than not being able to support those that depend upon you.

After putting in a hard, long day at work, coming home to smiling faces makes the day worth it. Children are waiting for you to come home and throw the ball around with them or play house for a few minutes. And a partner that holds you tight as you come through the door.

A working person’s life may not be much, but it is the difference between having a secure life and one full of hardships and stress. A steady job does make you tired, and it is never easy. It is definitely not what you planned your life to be. But when you come home to a good house full of family that appreciates your hard work, all the pain and exhaustion are relieved enough to allow you to continue.
