Music legends combining forces is always a treat for fans. Two of the most admired figures in country music, Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, got together to sing ‘It’s All Going to Pot.’

The whole band is in a nice wooden recording studio, and there is footage of the band members laughing during the recording. Everyone is having a good time recording this duet!

The tune has a Latin flavor with its catchy horn intro. Willie starts with verse 1, and Merle jumps in on verse 2. Willie is ironically lighting multiple blunts while recording.

Willie and Merle are talking and playing while working on the mixing board in the studio. They sing the lyrics, “It’s all going to pot. Whether we like it or not. Best I can tell, the world’s gone to hell, and we’re all gonna miss it a lot.”

There is an instrumental in the middle of the song while Willie plays acoustic lead guitar. The two stars are joined by a piano, bass player, and drummer. Verse 3 has a fun lyric about Willie’s girl cheating on him with Merle.

Their song was released in 2015 as a single for the duet album ‘Django & Jimmie.’ The bouncy tune has a joyful sound while lamenting the world’s decline. However, it doesn’t seem to bother Willie or Merle much at all.

Country music has seen many classic duets over the years, and this one certainly ranks with the best combos in history. Willie and Merle are forever linked thanks to this catchy tune with a double meaning.
