Couple Builds DIY Tiny Home on Wheels for $1800

Jenna, also known as “Tiny House Giant Journey” on her online platform, has recently shared the story of Jack and Riley. They are a couple who built their own tiny travel cabin on wheels for only $1800. Their house is incredibly small, measuring only 32 square feet. Still, it has everything they need for their constant adventures around the country, including national parks.

The couple built the cabin on a 4×8 trailer, as their Subaru Outback could only tow a “Tiny House” weighing within 2,000 pounds. Jack constructed the shell of the place in just six days, and the total weight of the home is 1,600 pounds. The cabin’s exterior features a shed roof, allowing airflow up and over the top while driving.

The cabin also has a glass window and door, which makes the space look bigger and lets in lots of natural light. Jack also added a bracket with a rope on the door for additional security while driving.

One unique feature of the cabin is the outdoor shower cabin, which has an immersion rod for hot water and a platform to keep feet clean while showering. The house also has a diesel heater for heat and a toilet made out of a bucket and toilet seat. In addition, the couple used RV jacks to level out the cabin and make it more stable while parked.

Inside the cabin, the couple has utilized the small space perfectly. They have two couches on the side and one at the back, providing seating options. There is also a dog bed under one of the couches. In addition, the couches can be converted into a small bed for the couple to rest, and there is storage space for clothes and knick-knacks.

The cabin is decorated with photos from their previous adventures, creating a cozy atmosphere. They use a solar generator for electricity and have café string lights and two sets of fans. The kitchen has a one-burner stove, a water container, and a pantry space for daily essentials.

They also have a space for the waste basket. The couple loves their new home and is happy with what they have designed. Overall, Jack and Riley’s travel cabin is a remarkable example of how people can create a tiny house with limited resources without compromising comfort and convenience.
