Cute Pekingese dog wins best in 145th Westminster Kennel Club dog show

The Westminster Kennel Club was started in 1887 in New York with a mission to celebrate dog companionship and at the same time promote responsible dog ownership, breed preservation, and health.

The dog show has given dog owners a chance to showcase their pets, and well, have the dogs win awards just for being dogs. Wasabi, the Pekingese that won the title did just that.

With over 2,500 dogs contesting this year and two hundred different breeds, Wasabi, the Pekingese and his human were able to stand out and take the Best in Show title home.

Wasabi, the tiny dog with big wins

Winning for the fifth time in a row, we can say that Wasabi is well prepared for the show. His owner has enough experience of how to groom him, ensuring that he takes the title home.

However, there were varying opinions as to which dog should have gotten the title as they all looked pretty well-groomed. From the fluffy white Samoyed to the cute French Bulldog Mathew.

For any dog lover, all the dogs should have won the show, however, there can only be one winner. And, we can’t overlook the specific factors that are required for a dog to win the show.

Nevertheless, we can say that Wasabi deserved the award based on the determining factors. He looks really proud of himself but considering all the contestants he beat, he should be.
