Maybe you enjoy singing along to the car radio, but chances are you’re self-conscious enough to only do that when you’re alone. The last thing you’d do is record yourself singing and share it with the world. But then, you aren’t Cole LaBrant or his step-daughter Everleigh. Cole is an expert at creating short internet videos, often about his own family and social circle. These peeks at his personality and the world he lives in have made his YouTube channel wildly popular. The way that he can get out of his comfort zone and make himself the butt of a joke may explain some of his success.
It’s always great to see a dad and daughter sharing in a fun activity they both enjoy. As you’ll see in the video posted below, Cole and Everleigh are masters of automotive karaoke.
The actual karaoke machine was invented by Japanese musician and businessman Daisuke Inoue in 1971. His great innovation was to use special versions of songs with the vocals removed so that people could do the actual singing rather than just sing along. After sweeping Japan, karaoke has become a worldwide phenomenon. People really do love to sing.
Cole and Everleigh take it up a few notches. At the beginning of the video, she’s strapped into a child seat and looks profoundly bored. “Hey dad! Wanna listen to the radio?” That’s fine with him and it isn’t long before things get wild and crazy. The two of them not only deliver a spectacular medley of songs but also do a costume change for each one! Everleigh is a 4 year-old who really knows her stuff. She and dad bust out the moves in perfect synchrony and don’t neglect the over-the-top facial expressions.
It’s really no surprise this dad and daughter musical extravaganza has racked up 18 million views. Let us know how you liked it in the comments section below. Be sure to like and share, too!
