Dancer seems overweight, but his fantastic swing dance wins the internet!

In this day and age, we’re constantly bombarded on all sides with the notion that we’re not good enough. Beauty magazines, television programs and the media in general, all seem to want to psychologically abuse us to keep us in a constant state of feeling worthless – so we buy more stuff and still feel miserable. We’re told that we’re too short, too tall, too fat, too thin, too old and too young. We’re told we’ll never make it and we should give up. So, it’s amazing when a story like this one comes along.

John Lindo is the first to admit he doesn’t have the physique of a professional dancer, but that’s exactly what he is, shattering all the misconceptions that we’ve been incorrectly led to believe! It’s one in the eye for those people who tell us that we can’t do something because we look a certain way. John has been proving the naysayers wrong since 1992!

Back then he started out with country-western dancing, but before long he began to explore other forms of the competitive side of the pastime and found himself in the west coast swing dance world. Much to everyone’s surprise and delight – he started winning completions! He’s become something of a household name in the swing dance world and has traveled all over the globe teaching his signature smooth style while becoming a champion for the downtrodden! You can do anything if you put your mind (and in this case body) to it!

In this clip, John is doing what he does best with his dance partner Deborah Szekely as they cut some rug at a west coast swing Jack and Jill competition. Watch how the couple moves seamlessly across the floor, in total sink with each other and with some really funky moves! You’ll be glued to how effortlessly John can sway!

And it will come as no shock to you to learn that the pair went on to win the competition! One more in the bag for John as he continues to rack up the trophies against all odds!

Watch and enjoy the amazing clip in the link below and check out the sheer joy John has in his dancing. And never let anyone tell you that you can’t do something simply because you don’t conform to an archetype. John here is an inspiration to us all!
