This video features a cover version of the classic Simon and Garfunkel song ‘The Sound of Silence.’ This rendition features Dave Monk on guitar playing an instrumental homage to the legendary duet.

Dave is a wonderful guitarist and also a creative video editor. He sits amidst a scenic waterfall background, complete with an occasional hawk flyover thanks to green screen technology.
He plays a red Fender Stratocaster while performing the lead melody line. But wait, there’s more because Dave doubles himself in the video, and he also plays the red strat on the accompaniment part.

The song benefits from a background music track that provides drums and bass. Dave even has a leather custom guitar strap with his name etched on it.
‘The Sound of Silence’ was featured on the first album by Simon and Garfunkel in 1964. The album was not a commercial success, and the group broke up soon after.

However, in 1965 the song gained airplay on radio stations. The song’s producer, Tom Wilson, created a remix with drums and strings as additional instrumentation without Simon or Garfunkel aware of the changes.
The remixed song hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1966, and Simon and Garfunkel reunited to continue their musical pursuits. This song sets an undeniable mood, and the beautiful harmony caused it to become iconic over the years.
