‘Deck the Halls’ gets new meaning as engineer turns home into Christmas light show

Christmas decorations and music can change moods, and many people attempt to spread the Christmas spirit with songs and decorations. In this video, an engineer converted his entire home into one gigantic Christmas-themed festival of light and sound.

One of the most popular songs sung over the holiday season is ‘Deck the Halls.’ The melody dates back to the sixteenth century. It was part of a Welsh winter carol while the English lyrics were added to the song by Thomas Oliphant in 1862.

The homeowner and electronics specialist used ‘Deck the Halls’ as the foundation for his light display in this video. All the lights on the house were somehow connected to react to the tune of the song.

It is not just a string or two of lights. He placed lights all over the walls, roof, and even in the garden of the house. They are high-tech LED lights that were carefully engineered in place to create the desired artistic effects.

The lights are programmed to react in specific sequences designed by the engineer whenever the song is playing. This then gives an orderly display that is addictive to watch.

Viewers are really enjoying his work, and one elated fan wrote online: ‘I was so hoping you would make your videos again this year. Honestly, your videos make my holidays so much more enjoyable.’

After watching this video, it is challenging to listen to the song and not picture this beautifully lit-up home in one’s mind. The light show is so epic that the lights in different locations on the property can’t all be observed at once.
