Tanya was a volunteer at Live Freely Sanctuary situated in Gainesville, Florida. She had heard about a paralyzed bunny inside a hoarder’s house. The poor animal had been hit by a car and could not move at all.
Taniya took the bunny to the vet. She was not sure if the vet would want to euthanize him. However, when she took the bunny out of the towel, she noticed that he was actually twitching his feet.
Tanya was happy that she could now try and help the bunny to walk again. Finally, after some therapy sessions, the bunny was able to crawl. The brave bunny was determined to get back to his old self.
The volunteer soon realized that the bunny had the potential to hop. So Tanya started a physical therapy session. She even helped the bunny by holding his hind legs with a scarf and ensuring that the bunny could dig the ground.
The bunny was so happy that he almost ran. It was difficult for Tanya to keep up with the little white bunny. Finally, she figured out how to build a wheelchair based on his body’s needs.
She named the bunny Desi. Soon Desi got to a point when he associated his wheelchair with moving around. As soon as Desi saw his wheelchair, he started to pull the wheelchair towards him and tried to climb on it. He even chased the cats and even zoomed around the whole room. This earned him the title Desi Zoom Zoom.
Soon Desi realized that he could hop and run on his own. This was the happiest moment for Tanya. Desi was so pleased that he did a binky showing how glad he was. Desi has been out of the wheelchair for almost 7 months and is getting stronger every day. Tanya is incredibly proud of him.
