Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors has received rave reviews from critics and viewers alike. This touching family film was so loved that NBC was happy to air this film a second time for the holiday season.
And they were glad they did. According to NBCUniversal, the film reached a wide array of demographics, and gained viewers in a snowball like effect as the night went on.
Not only has the movie reached a huge number of viewers, it has also taken home several awards for the acting and production. Executive producer Sam Haskell was happy with the film’s success, but not surprised.
"Dolly and I were thrilled with the ratings resulting from the second airing of Coat of Many Colors on Christmas night," he said. "America has taken Dolly's coat and wrapped it around everyone they love. We are honored and blessed with the response to our movie!"
NBCUniversal has announced their intention to roll out several more movies based on Dolly Parton’s life and songs. I, for one, can’t wait!
