The Ed Sullivan Show has helped many newcomers, and celebrated artists showcase their talents on the variety show. The talented singers sing, and dance to their hit compositions live in front of the audience.

The Creedence Clearwater Revival performs their famous "Down on The Corner" track on The Ed Sullivan Show. It is one of the most memorable live performances of the group. Recently, several CCR fans revisited the group's performance on the show, making it significantly popular.
CCR consists of their frontline songwriter John Fogerty (lead singer), rhythm guitarist (John's brother) Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook (bassist), and Doug Clifford (drummer). They had started the group in the 60s in El Cerrito, California, and were known as The Golliwogs initially.

Inspired by Mississippi's Southern rock and sounds, they changed their group's name to The Creedence Clearwater Revival. Their performance on the show is based on one of their best-selling tracks, "Down on The Corner."
The song "Down on The Corner" initially came out in CCR's album known as Willy & the Poor Boys. The track talks about a fictional band who plays at the corner on the streets for money. The song begins with Stu Cook playing the guitar & then shows the other group members.

The upbeat track and catchy lyrics captivate the audience. John's distinctive voice is on full display. The other members sing along in the chorus. Their performance on the show reminds them of authentic rock & roll music.
At the end of the performance, Ed Sullivan talks to the group members. Sullivan tells them that having them perform on the show is excellent. He adds that not only the audience from the whole country enjoyed their fantastic performance.
