In the sixth episode of the third season, titled “Edith Flips Her Wig,” Edith is apprehended by law enforcement officers after leaving a store wearing a wig. Her innocent confusion about what’s happening to her is both endearing and amusing.
Then there’s Season 2, Episode 7, ‘Edith’s Accident,’ where Edith loses control of her shopping cart and dents a car with a can of cling peaches. Her immediate response is to leave a note with her name and number, much to Archie’s disbelief.
In the third episode of the third season, Archie is worried about facing an audit due to unreported income. However, Edith is anxious that her husband may find it challenging to adapt to an unfamiliar environment if he is away from home. It’s a classic example of how Edith’s innocence and Archie’s stern demeanor played off each other so perfectly.
