Although the song is not technically gospel music, Presley performed this song with the powerful intensity and intonations of the traditional southern gospel. If you own any Elvis CDs or albums, you can count on this one being included for its spiritual inspirational overtones. It’s a classic we can’t get enough of.  The lyrics are hauntingly beautiful and have special meaning to those who know:
