Elvis Presley is one of the greatest artists we have ever had the chance to witness, even though most of today’s generation have only seen him on video.
He rightfully deserves the title of The King of Rock N’ Roll. Even though he is gone, his charisma and voice is still live on in his music and movies. In the 1970s, Elvis gave his fans some unforgettable moments. His new album was about to be released along with a full-length concert and documentary before he died suddenly.
And who could overlook THIS surprise at his live concert! When Elvis walked onstage, the audience was probably expecting his hits like “Blue Christmas” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” but Elvis shocked them with another hit from another great artist. Elvis is known for covers as well, so when he started singing “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond, it was simply unbelievable!
Elvis had the ability to take any song and make it his own while still honoring the original artist. It must have been so flattering to have a song chosen to be sung by Elvis live during one of his concerts. “Sweet Caroline” is great to sing along with, but no one could get a crowd excited like Neil Diamond when he sang it, except for Elvis.
This must have been an incredible treat for the people who came to see Elvis that day. I’m sure they weren’t expecting to hear him sing a Neil Diamond classic like “Sweet Caroline.”
