Micah Toll, a lover of all things electric, has been hunting for an electric boat for some time now. After extensive research on an online ecommerce site, he finally finds a boat that catches his eye. A little 14-foot electric boat with five seats and a beautiful front entry for an amazingly reasonable price of $1,080.00.

The only issue is that shipping from China will cost a fortune, so he waits for the price to go down. Finally, when it reaches $2,200, he decides to ship the boat to Florida.
After the boat is delivered to his parent’s ranch, he unboxes the crate to reveal the electric boat he was waiting for. Frank, the boat company owner, also included 10 free life jackets, which Micah thinks is about $300.

The boat crate is made of solid half-inch plywood screwed onto the cage, which Micah knew would come in handy soon. The cage itself is welded with a 2” galvanized steel square tube and was surprisingly well-made.
Getting the boat out of the crate was difficult, especially since it was loaded from the top using a gantry crane in the Chinese factory. The boat weighs between 400-500 lbs., so it is a slide-one-end-at-a-time situation.

Once out of the crate, Micah and his dad lift the boat up to the level of a trailer which takes time. Then they installed the canopy and batteries, which Micah had chosen. He wants to install his lithium iron phosphate batteries instead of the factory’s lead acid batteries.
It was time for the maiden voyage with the boat now on the water. Micah first took it out alone in the pond to check if it worked efficiently. However, soon his dad joins him to even out the weight. Regarding the fit and finish, the boat is very nice. It can seat up to five people, and Micah is excited to take his family out on the pond for fun.
