Donnie seems to realize this letter may be related to him. He looks very serious and mouths questioning words to his producer. Marie continues to read the letter's words, 'I miss you so much. I want to let you know that I love you very much, and I hope that I can live up to the name we both share!'
Donnie puts his head down and starts crying. Marie comforts him, and the show puts up a picture of his son, Don. It is an emotional moment for the studio audience and everyone watching the show.
Then Marie says, 'How can you work on Father's Day? Come on down!' Donnie's whole family appears and comes out on stage. Everyone is shedding tears and hugging, and Donnie is so happy clutching his youngest.
