A Fireman Helps Deliver A Baby And Calls His Wife To Tell Her About It. But That’s Not All…

Although Marc and Beth Hadden’s two sons had brought plenty of joy and love to their lives, they’d always had the sense that their family wasn’t complete. They desperately tried to conceive but to no avail. Doctors eventually told them that they would never be able to have another child of their own, so they began to look into adoption as a possibility. As Beth later said, “We had had it in our minds and in our hearts for years to adopt and we just left it in God’s hands. We just said, if it’s meant to be, it’s going to be.”

Marc works as a fireman and one cold, crisp November night, an emergency call had him on the scene for a woman who was in labor and probably wasn’t going to be able to hold out until she got to the hospital. Marc’s professional training was put to the ultimate test, but he successfully delivered a beautiful baby girl. Or perhaps we should be more precise and say that he helped with the delivery. But in any case, he was very proud of a job well done. He called his wife Beth to tell her all about it. “When he called me, he was ecstatic. I mean, he had delivered a baby. Who in the world gets to deliver a baby in their lifetime when it’s not a doctor?”

If this was all there was to the story, it would be amazing enough. But then Marc heard that the baby girl had immediately been put up for adoption. Marc and Beth’s ideas about “meant to be” quickly came into focus. Within 48 hours of her birth, little Grace was already at her new home, the adoption paperwork already working its way through the system.
