Spectacular Firework and Drone Show Kickstarts the Tokyo Olympic Games

Fireworks lighting up the sky above a stadium with "Tokyo 2020" displayed on its facade.

The Summer Olympic Games were first held in Greece in 1896, an event that has been carried on over the past century every four years. The games have been held on 5 continents in a total of 19 countries.

This year, they were being held in Tokyo, Japan after being postponed from happening due to the lockdown regulations imposed. Despite that, Japan has managed to give us an amazing display for the openers.

Unlike the normal days, where fans would fill stadiums to watch the games, the Tokyo Olympics were a first of a kind. No fans were allowed into the stadiums, and the games were being held in an almost empty stadium.

Firework and drone show-Tokyo Olympic Games

Having fewer spectators did not limit Japan’s opening act for the Summer Olympic games. There was an outstanding firework and drone display that will have people talking for some time.

The first was a firework display that lit up the sky with plenty of magical colors. The unison explosions and brilliant colors are going to be among the highlights of the event.

The cake to the icing was the drone display that was put up during the opening event. There was a 3D display of the earth, highlighting the continents, including the tiny islands.

Every, if not most of the commenters, have mentioned that the drone display has been the best they’ve seen in a while. The mind-blowing technology will have you wishing you were able to watch the display first hand.
