Fleetwood Mac’s 80s Hit ‘Gypsy’ Will Take You On A Nostalgic Journey You Don’t Want To Miss

Watch One Of The Few Music Videos Ever Made By Fleetwood Mac And A Stevie Nicks Favorite

Don’t miss the official music video of Fleetwood Mac’s song ‘Gypsy,’ – the biggest hit and second single ever released as a part of their 1982 album ‘Mirage.’ Although written in 1979 by Stevie Nicks, the song took on all new meaning pursuant to the passing of her dear friend,
Robin Anderson.

Stevie discussed her inspiration for this song with ‘Entertainment Weekly’, saying “In the old days, before Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey [Buckingham] and I had no money, so we had a king-size mattress, but we just had it on the floor. I had old vintage coverlets on it, and even though we had no money it was still really pretty… Just that and a lamp on the floor, and that was it”

She continued “There was a certain calmness about it. To this day, when I’m feeling cluttered, I will take my mattress off of my beautiful bed, wherever that may be, and put it outside my bedroom, with a table and a little lamp.”

Stevie Nicks shared her fans’ love of the ‘Gypsy’ music video, discussing it in ‘I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution.’ She commented “I think we would probably have gone on to make many more great videos like ‘Gypsy’ had we not been so into drugs”

We’re all glad this song and brilliant video came together. It’s a timeless classic that no one will ever be able to forget. Nostalgic, and packed with raw emotion, there are few other Fleetwood Mac tracks that can compare.
