Fort Smith Singer Gets the Room Jamming With Jazzy Soul Classic

University of Arkansas-Fort Smith Alumni Allison Grace performed a jazzy rendition of the Norah Jones hit “Don’t Know Why.” The smooth-voiced singer had the judges jamming along to her upbeat arrangement, with John Legend seemingly perfectly suited to her style.

Blake Shelton opened up the commentary by saying, “I thought that was a great performance. I thought it started off a little shaky, but I do think you got it together, and I thought it was beautiful.” John Legend explained his refusal, adding, “Allison, you have such a lovely tone of voice. It feels like the kind of voice that should be singing this lovely Norah Jones classic, but I didn’t hear enough power. It just felt a little bit restrained.”

With an effortlessly smooth voice and a supremely delicate tone, Fort Smith Singer Allison Grace put forth a beautiful blind audition. Despite nerves taking their toll, her cover of “Don’t Know Why” by Norah Jones captivated the audience proving that her latent talent could only be waiting for the right time to be discovered.
