Retirement is a time many of us work hard to reach. A time when we can relax, and spend our golden days with our friends and families, enjoying leisurely pursuits. Country music star Don Williams has decided that now is the time to kick back, for him.
Williams, who is 76, revealed his plans in a press release on March 1,2016, saying he wants to take the time to focus on his family.
“It’s time to hang my hat up and enjoy some quiet time at home,” Williams said.”I’m so thankful for my fans, my friends and my family for their everlasting love and support.”
Williams enjoyed a career spanning more than forty years. He released numerous popular songs throughout that time, 17 of which made it to number one on the charts. Between the years 1974-1991 alone, Williams released at least one major hit for each of those years.
Williams’ pulled in fans with his smooth baritone voice, which caught the ears of fans across several generations. He’s also been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and honor he certainly deserves. We wish him well in his retirement.
