Veronica (foster mom) had found a stray Pittie puppy, later named Roo, on one of the main roads in Raleigh. So, she decided to take her in and help her. Unfortunately, Roo was very shy and had a habit of crawling on the ground.

Roo was not quite sure about making eye contact. However, Veronica could still tell that the Pittie was curious and wanted attention. Anytime the foster mom got a foster dog, they went through a decompression and integration phase.
That meant she did not let her other foster dog, Riot, meet Roo immediately. Instead, she slowly got them together. The day after Roo arrived, the foster dogs met through a barrier.

After a couple of days, Veronica allowed Riot to sniff the Pitbull puppy. After a few days, the two met at the yard and coexisted together. However, she had to remove Roo as she had serious mange to the point that her skin was really scabby.
Physically, Roo was also not in good shape. So, she had to get her medicated baths every couple of days to help heal her skin. After a few days, Roo slowly recovered and soon started gaining weight. Then, she asked for pets & belly rubs.

Soon, the foster siblings reunited. They looked at each other and paused, and then they started playing. That's when Veronica knew that Roo was going to be okay. Riot helped teach Roo that things were alright and people were not scary. The Pittie puppy loved to hop like a kangaroo. She sometimes howled, but it sounded like a rooster.
According to Veronica, that sums up Roo's personality. The foster mom thought the pup was very playful, loving, and happy despite her condition. A few days ago, the little one went to her forever home. Veronica was delighted she could help Roo and was looking to help more puppies like her.
