A German Shepherd named Tony was recently adopted by Lee. The poor dog weighed 150 pounds, which was 50 pounds overweight. Tony was a stray dog. He was adopted once and returned. Lee was determined to give Tony all the love that the dog deserved. Tony already had 8 other rescue dogs at home, and Tony was his ninth. The poor dog was pretty demoralized about his weight. Tony stayed distant and away from others the first night at Lee's house.

A man in swim trunks stands in shallow water with three dogs, one of which is wet and appears to be shaking.

Tony was unable to stand and eat his food. He also missed treats thrown at him, unlike the other dogs at home. In addition, he had gotten used to people not giving him any affection. This made Lee determined to fill Tony's life with love. Lee's love helped Tony get his feet moving. The following day, Lee decided to take his 9 dogs for a walk. It was a snowy day, and he got all the dogs inside his van. Lee understood that the best way for Tony to get back in shape was to stick with the pack. Tony was surprised at Lee's motivation and responded to his foster father as much as possible. The first day's workout boosted Tony's confidence.

Soon Lee took Tony to the vet, who weighed the dog and revealed that he had lost 3 pounds. However, he still had 47 pounds to lose. After two weeks, it was the first time Lee had to leave his dogs for a work meeting. He saw that Tony was chasing him on the empty road on his side mirror. That told Tony that the dog knew about his foster father's love for him. Lee saw his younger self in Tony. When he was young, Lee had severe learning disabilities and used to get tired of getting bullied. One day, he ran away to a dog shelter. He visited the dog shelter every day and promised the dogs that he would soon save them all.

Lee had a 9 to 5 job. However, he soon quit his job to travel the country promoting dog adoption. Lee had decided that he would quickly hit the road once Tony was more mobile. He wanted to show people what dog adoption was all about. Stella was the Pitbull amongst Lee's team of 9 dogs. Unlike many other Pitbull dogs, Stella just wanted to cuddle all the time. Butters was a small breed and had been through many cases of abuse in the past. However, the dog turned out to be the most confident one in the pack. Bo and Callie were two others from the group. Callie was a Golden Retriever and very demanding. Another dog, Lillie, used to experience multiple seizures each day, and Lee did not think she could make it this far.

Queen was the oldest of the pack. Penny was a petrified Chihuahua and often used to get excited. Whenever the Chihuahuas used to get out of control while playing with Tony, Bo would intervene to stop them. He soon became Tony's personal trainer and helped the German Shepherd lose excess body weight. Bo used to motivate Tony a lot in doing physical activities. Soon Lee took Tony to the vet, who revealed that the dog weighed 123 pounds and still needed to shed 23 pounds.

Lillie always used to stick around with Tony. They used to lie down on the floor together and go everywhere together. Tony was Lillie's boyfriend. The two would always touch each other, and nobody dared to mess with Tony in front of Lillie. Tony gained a lot of confidence from Lillie. He soon started to chase balls and play with the other dogs in the house. After 2 months, the vet revealed Tony's weight at 115 pounds. Lee took his pack to a beach in San Diego one fine day. He used to take the dogs to different parts of the country. This made Tony get all the exercises he needed to thin down. They went to Del Mar, Colorado, Utah, and Oregon.

Tony soon became a part of Lee's family. Soon the vet revealed that Tony was just overweight by 2 pounds. So, Lee decided to make Tony run across the Brooklyn Bridge. Tony's weight soon dropped to 99 pounds. So, Lee decided to visit Sacramento SPCA with Tony. This was where he had got Tony. The people at the dog rescue were surprised at the massive transformation of Tony. He could do everything that he was unable to do earlier.
