Imagine spending an afternoon in a lush, green garden with birds singing in the background, but all of a sudden, you come face-to-face with a fox. Many people would shoo the animal away or retreat indoors until it left. Still, for this videographer, he decided to take another approach: feed the animal lunch.
The video starts with a fox in a garden staring into the camera lens very intently. Within a few seconds, we can see what he was staring at: a bowl along with a pouch of food. Slowly the man comes into the frame, sits the bowl down, and opens the food. As it pours into the bowl, the fox slowly starts to approach the man.
The man does not make any sudden movements. He slowly pushes the bowl towards the fox and makes encouraging sounds in hopes that the fox will approach and begin to eat.
As the animal and man sit in the green garden, it is a moment of peace in nature that they both seem to equally enjoy. The fox is rewarded with the food and the man visibly enjoys simply watching this animal and caring for its needs.
The man’s love for nature is seen in his care for the garden. Many viewers were as impressed with the garden as they were with the fox being comfortable enough to accept food and eat it right next to the man.
The man’s gentle and generous spirit is rewarded with the trust of the animal. One viewer commented that to gain the confidence of a wild animal is the greatest compliment to be paid. While the encounter does not last long, you can see the moment of peace they both experience in each other’s company.
The video reminds us that instead of running away from nature, there are many rewards if we take the time to connect and care for the beings around us.
