Not only do I stock my fridge with Budweiser beer every year during the Super Bowl, I always anticipate and eagerly await their latest commercial because they never fail to entertain.
The ads that get the most attention, of course, are the Budweiser Clydesdales horses. Although their commercial debut occurred more than 30 years ago, they are still one of the most anticipated ads during the big game. But in this short video, you’ll watch the man behind the magic as he trains these amazing horses in preparation for the Super Bowl. In this behind-the-scenes documentary, you’ll watch rare footage of horse trainer Robin Wiltshire doing what he does best.
Near the Teton Mountains in Dubois, Wyoming, Robin and Kate Wiltshire raise and train a variety of animals. But for Robin, horse training is not just a source of entertainment. It’s his whole way of life.
Contrary to what I believed, the Australian-born trainer uses a reward system to train the horses. Instead of punishing them for mistakes, he uses love and praise when the Clydesdales horses do something right and it definitely seems to be working. You will see just how well trained they are in this next clip.
Robin does not rush the horses. Every training move is deliberate and has a purpose. And as you’ve seen on TV, the result is absolutely stunning.
