Old classic movies can take you back in time and bring back beautiful memories you may have forgotten over the years. Swing Time was one of the best movies that came out in 1938, and it’s still a great watch to this day.
In the film, Fred Astaire’s character is learning how to dance from Ginger Rogers’ character, Penny. There comes a scene when Penny may lose her job, and Fred shows off how much the immensely talented woman has taught him.
It’s outstanding to watch the two perform together flawlessly in this vintage clip. Ginger does everything that Astaire can but backward and in heels. The talented dancers display perfectly choreographed moves to the song, Pick Yourself Up.
The music was written by Jerome Kern and the lyrics by Dorothy Fields. It brings back a sense of nostalgia seeing these two iconic performers together. There’s no guessing how much time and practice went into this scene, let alone the entire movie.
