Karolina Protsenko, a 12-year-old violinist from Ukraine, is stealing hearts on the internet for a short video in which she is playing Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah on the violin for a little squirrel.
She is seen kneeling on the ground next to the squirrel who is taking in the whole situation with utmost curiosity. The squirrel does not seem to be afraid of Karolina in the slightest.
Karolina is very passionate about playing her violin and this passion has gained her over 5 million followers on Youtube.
Even this clip, which is a little less than a minute long, and is clearly an impromptu performance, possibly on a day out on a hike, got close to 6 million views.
Karolina was born into a musical family with a guitarist and pianist as parents. She started learning the violin at the age of six when the family moved to the US.
A couple of years after that, she began busking at Santa Monica in California, something she enjoys doing to this day. She has a large following on the internet and her videos have received well over 500 million views.
Karolina has been featured on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and dreams of touring the world with her violin, playing concerts for people everywhere she goes.
