In one scene, the characters Rose, Dorothy, and Blanche try to get a baby to calm down. The crying baby is in a stroller as the ladies sit on a couch in front of it.

They decide to sing the tune, ‘Mr. Sandman.’ The song’s beginning is complicated for the girls, and they stumble on their first attempt. Rose explains, ‘After my boom comes your boom, and then yours until we’re all booming!’

Once they get the song going, they sound lovely. Dorothy, played by Bea Arthur, dips her head low each time she hits the bass notes. The audience cracks up with each bass riff!

The baby falls asleep, and then they try to move the carriage. As they walk across the living room, the baby starts crying again. The girls start singing again in the hopes of getting the baby to calm down.

This time, the girls add some choreography. They extend their arms and pose while blending their voices. Sophia, played by Estelle Getty, comes out of the kitchen, watching the girls in disbelief. She says to them, ‘Boy, you guys really stink!’

The comedic timing is perfect, and the audience loves it! The show always provided big laughs with each episode. This memorable scene reminds us why we all cherish ‘The Golden Girls.’
