This Golden Retriever Reacts to Her Cancer Test Results, Start the Water Works!

Overnight Lily got sick. She could hardly stand. Here mommy and daddy took her to the vet and they found a tumor on her spleen. She was bleeding internally. She desperately needed a blood transfusion or she would be dead in hours.

Once Lily was stabilized, the vet told them Lilly had cancer very common for Golden Retrievers. It comes on fast. Without surgery, she had only days to live. Even then, the vet told them full remission was rare.  At best with surgery, Lilly had a few short months left. Still, there was a small chance Lilly could live a normal life. A small chance.

Lilly's mommy and daddy didn't give up. They emptied their  savings accounts and did the surgery. A 6 pound tumor was removed from Lilly.

She immediately seemed better. But they said it would only be temporary. The vet said it was more than likely that in a few months she would bleed out.  They were clear that it has never happened and we should be prepared and just enjoy our time with her. But Lilly's mommy never lost hope, "What if it's benign?" she hoped.
