When Martin Brown’s mother-in-law wanted to be able to live closer to the family but wasn’t sure how it could be done, he had a brilliant idea. Martin decided that he would personally renovate the family’s garage into an apartment for the grandmother to move into. This space wouldn’t be just a guest room; it would be a full living space, complete with everything you would find in a traditional apartment.
At first glance, the space looks far too small to be a full apartment, but thanks to the emergence of a “tiny homes” movement, there has been a lot more thought, as well as resources, explaining how to make a small space seem far bigger than it really is.
