Sean McCormack, founder of "Animal Care Trust," and his friend Ross Tweedie, owner of "Taiwan Adventures" came to know about a trapped dog in a remote village in Taiwan. So both Sean and his friend set out to rescue the dog, who needed them.

They were told by many people that hiking to the village was not easy as it could only be accessed by foot. This was why it was impossible for them to safely bring the sick dog down the mountain.
The kind men did not pay any heed to the warnings. Instead, they set out on the journey towards the village to rescue the dog. They wanted to bring him down the mountain to get the care that was needed.

Both the men were expert hikers, but it was a dangerous trail up the mountain. It took them almost 4 and a half hours to get to the remote village. They made it to the town early in the morning.
The rescuers had no information about the dog's health and were unsure if they could reach him in time. For both of them, coming down the trail without him would have been pretty devastating. They eventually got to the guest house where the dog should have been. Not seeing him there made them worried. But after searching around for him, they found the dog sitting under a pile of chairs.

The dog was so weak and in pain that he came out and put his head on Sean's lap. This was pretty rare, even for an amiable dog. Both the men had the same thought of how they were going to get him down the mountain. The dog let them clean off his wound and bandage it. Both the men felt as if he knew they were helping him. Now the only concern was if he would stay in the backpack. They named the dog Sandy.
Sandy was well-behaved throughout the journey. Finally, they came down the mountain and took Sandy home. Unfortunately, the vet advised that his legs needed amputation. But, gradually, the dog got healthier. Now the last thing was to get Sandy a new home. A man named Bob contacted Sean on a social media platform. He was impressed by how the two men had rescued the sick dog and invited him to come and have a meal at his restaurant. Soon, Bob decided to foster Sandy and later adopted the adorable dog.
