Hilariously Indignant Pekingese Dogs Have Funny Way of Displaying Royalty

Two small dogs, one brown with a red bandana, the other white with a green bandana, are sitting on grass.

The Pekingese is one of the oldest dog breeds known to man and one of the most mysterious. Bred with an air of self-importance, this breed was originally meant for Chinese royalty.

Our groomer is up against two of these Pekingese, Isis, and Loki. She first grooms Isis, the female Pekingese who is, for the most part, calm and allows for the grooming to continue.

The groomer moves on to the ever increasingly entitled Pekingese, Loki, who quickly lets the groomer know that he is, in fact, the one in charge. For the most part, this grooming goes smoothly.

While showing teeth and displaying signs of annoyance throughout the groom, Loki finally has enough. Just after he's done getting his nails trimmed, he snaps and forces the groomer to put the "cone of shame" on him.

Loki, clearly a king, resentfully finishes the grooming without any more lash outs—and he looks impressive. After spraying down with some doggy fragrance, he is free to leave.

Once home, the royal siblings release their pent-up energy along with some gas that had built up during the grooming.

This hilarious video is an excellent demonstration of the quirkiness of specific breeds of dogs. For the Pekingese Loki, getting groomed is not what he enjoys doing.
