An American ballet company is shaking things up for the ballet world in their recent performance on America’s Got Talent. Hiplet Ballerinas blended hip hop and ballet to give a stunning performance on the AGT stage.
Before taking the stage, the five ballerinas talk about being excluded from ballet schools as children. They went on to say that this kind of rejection is what inspired them to start their own ballet company based on inclusivity.
Taylor Edwards, one of the dancers in the troupe said, “AGT is a huge opportunity for us to share our dance and who we are with the world.”
The rehearsal footage shows the girls dancing in perfect synchronicity with such grace; it’s easy to see why they deserved a spot on America’s Got Talent.

After welcoming them to the stage, Simon Cowell threw out a challenge, stating that ballet is boring, to which Taylor replied, “It can be unless you have the right dancers.”
This naturally drew appreciation from the crowd, and the girls went on to bring the house down with their hip-hop-infused ballet routine. The moment they toss their tutus aside revealing more hip-hop-appropriate attire, the crowd, and the judges went wild.
The routine blew everyone away with solos from each of the girls interspersed with some synchronized dance moves that had the audience hypnotized.
