Home Free Covers Bruce Springsteen's 'Born in the USA'

A man in a blue shirt holds a guitar, singing with a group of five others in a desert backdrop.

The extremely talented five-man band, Home Free, performs their version of Bruce Springsteen’s “Born In The USA.” The song opens with a guitar strumming and the wondrous sound of humming.

Behind them on a large screen is the American flag, then several newspaper headlines flash on the screen behind them. As the first verse starts a familiar figure appears.

Wearing his world-famous hat, Uncle Sam appears to be larger than life. There are planes that fly past, dropping cargo that falls slowly. On the ground there are various tanks facing outward.

Famous images from all over the US appear, Mount Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State building, the bald eagle, Marilyn Monroe, and the Hollywood Sign.

In front of a concrete wall, the band members jump and suddenly they get turned into images that appear to be painted on the wall. They look like posters or graffiti made by skilled artists.

By the end of the song, they are all on the sidewalk in front of a brick wall. A guitar case is open in front of them, inside the case there is a sign. Written on the sign in bold letters is HOMELESS.

One by one the band members get up from the sidewalk and walk away. Eventually, it is only the guitarist left alone as he strums the last chords of the song.

Home Free is worth another look, and AmazonAd has a good amount of it. A purchase through our link sends a few cents our way and helps keep the lights on.
