The Horse Begins Trotting Around The Arena. But What Happens NEXT? I Can’t Believe It!

The world of horse dressage can be full of surprises. Just ask the judges at the 2006 World Equestrian Games. They thought it was just another day, until world famous horse Blue Hors Matine and his owner Andreas Helgstrand trotted into the arena.

For months, Matine and Andreas had been preparing for their Freestyle routine. Days and nights of practicing and perfecting their moves definitely paid off. Commentators were prepared for something dramatic, and that’s exactly what they got.

The pair start their routine with traditional dressage music. Right in the middle of their performance everything changes, and a jazzy instrumental version of “Lady Marmalade” comes through the speakers.

The shift in music caused commentators to say “it has a feeling of a pop concert tonight, and Matine and Andreas are really delivering the goods.” There is nothing quite like watching a team of human and animal perform so well together. Andreas and Matine really made magic that day.
