A group of people, including a man in a brown shirt, are gathered around a motorcycle in an outdoor setting.

At the start of the day, students would arrive at school in their own cars or on buses. They would conversate and socialize with their friends before the first bell rang to begin the day.

Students would hang out outside on the grounds or inside the gym or cafeteria and sported long hair or bangs. Teachers would wear full suits and dresses to class.

Kids would sit outside a lot for lunch period with their friends. Kids and teachers would smoke on campus because it was allowed in the 70s. Everyone would gather together in between classes and smoke and chat. Teachers and students would smoke together.

There were sports teams in the schools and many after-school or in-school clubs. Typical teenage behavior still existed in the 70s, with pranks and jokes being played on classmates.

70s high school students also skipped classes and hung out with their friends in a hidden spot to smoke. Typical mischief still existed in the 70s with class-cutting and leaving school early without permission.

The cafeteria was a little different because teens would go into the line and grab their own food. There were no servers at the buffet area. These differences and similarities all made up the high school of the 1970s.
